Project Overview
Pacific Asbestos Consultancy was engaged by Taggart Earthmoving to provide specialist asbestos consultancy services for the redevelopment of a four-storey commercial building at 95 Hanover Street, Dunedin.
The project commenced with a comprehensive asbestos demolition survey to identify and assess asbestos-containing materials throughout the building prior to demolition. PAC continued involvement throughout the asbestos removal phase, providing independent air monitoring, clearance inspections and compliance reporting to support the safe progression of works.

Technical Approach
PAC provided independent technical oversight throughout the project, combining detailed surveying, ongoing monitoring and verification inspections to support safe and compliant asbestos management.
Working alongside Taggart Earthmoving and asbestos removal contractors, PAC ensured asbestos risks were identified, managed and independently verified throughout the demolition process.
Project Outcome
Following a 14-week asbestos removal programme, PAC provided continuous consultancy support from initial demolition survey through to final clearance inspections.
Through close collaboration with project stakeholders, the works progressed safely and efficiently, with asbestos risks professionally managed in accordance with New Zealand regulatory requirements.
