Building the future of asbestos consultancy
Pacific Asbestos Consultancy is building towards becoming one of New Zealand's leading asbestos and hazardous materials consultancies.
-
Yes. If your building was constructed before asbestos was banned in New Zealand, an asbestos survey is often required before renovation or demolition work begins. An asbestos survey identifies any asbestos-containing materials so they can be safely managed or removed, helping protect workers, meet WorkSafe New Zealand requirements, and avoid costly project delays.
-
PAC understands that many projects operate under tight timeframes. We respond quickly to enquiries and can often mobilise to site within a short timeframe, depending on location and project requirements. Laboratory testing is completed through IANZ-accredited laboratories, with fast turnaround options available when required.
-
PAC is based in Christchurch and provides asbestos consultancy services throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Through our network of trusted industry partners, we regularly support projects across both the North and South Islands, as well as Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Rarotonga and Tahiti.
-
Asbestos air monitoring measures airborne asbestos fibres during or after asbestos removal work to ensure workers and surrounding occupants remain protected. It is commonly required during higher-risk asbestos removal projects and provides independent verification that fibre levels remain within safe limits.
-
A clearance inspection is the final independent assessment completed after asbestos removal. It confirms that all visible asbestos has been removed and, where required, that air monitoring results meet clearance criteria. Once complete, a clearance certificate is issued, providing documented confirmation that the area is safe for reoccupation in accordance with WorkSafe New Zealand requirements.
-

PAC works with a broad range of clients, including residential homeowners, commercial property owners, industrial operators, schools, insurers, demolition contractors, asbestos removal companies, local authorities and government agencies. Whether it's a single property or a large infrastructure project, we provide the same practical advice and professional service.

Yes. PAC provides end-to-end asbestos consultancy services, including asbestos testing, demolition and renovation surveys, air monitoring, clearance inspections, project management and compliance support. -
As an independent consultancy, PAC provides unbiased advice and reporting focused solely on achieving the right outcome for your project. We don't undertake asbestos removal, allowing us to provide objective assessments, independent air monitoring and clearance inspections, and practical recommendations that put safety, compliance and your project's success first.
